    Sound of the Underground
I wanted to come home. But now that I'm back, I don't want to be here anymore. I forgot how frustrating my mother, and now sometimes my sister, can be. I've never felt so pissed to be back home ever. I guess things are back to normal, and that in itself can be infuriating because it was nothing much to begin with.

I know it's a bad introduction for an entry on a day such as this. It's Peter's birthday. My good friend Peter who's always thoughtful and down-to-earth. The genius that is Peter Cincotti. I anticipate the day in which we will meet. It will surely bring an impact to my life.

Now that I am home, I've been really looking forward to accomplishing something that I actually started writing again. I've also been looking for a job I like but so far the fear of my parents' opinion towards this endeavor leave me powerless to act. I didn't want to review again and waste money and time but my mom wanted me to, so I'm starting soon. I don't care about an interior related job, but she wants me to do something related to it so as to make use of what I've learned. Since I've been back, I've been nothing but a bored lapdog. Wanted to take the entertainment transcriptionist gig, but I doubt they'll call back. I told them I was gonna be out of town. Damn! Why did we have to go to Hongkong for the trade fair? I'm really bored out of my skull. But it is a chance to catch up on dvds. Still, I need my mind to be preoccupied with something else. Thank god for Peter and jazz.

    Frustrated Incorporated
Angola versus Protugal. Shame they lost to Portugal once again. As most people on the other side of the world don’t know is that with the help of US arms, the Portuguese killed over 10,000 Angolans during the 1960 revolt massacre, even after centuries of slavery and oppression under their rule. Is there no justice left in this world?

They say sports and politics do not necessarily mix. That is a load of bull crap! Somehow I agree with what Dutch player Ruud Van Nistelrooy said regarding wanting to beat Germany in the World Cup, “This is not just about football history, it is about real history and what went on 60 years ago.” Others say, “War has nothing to do with a soccer match.” You’d think that people could forgive and forget about the past. But realistically speaking, it’s very tough to swallow one’s pride. Easy for one to say you should put the past behind you when centuries worth of history is swaying others to think otherwise. They weren’t the one being sold as slaves or massacred by the thousands. There is at least an ample amount of glory and honor in beating your previous colonizer, even if it is only through a football match.

Seeing Trinidad and Tobago so happy to end a game even nil with Sweden was very touching. I did not expect to feel for the South Americans but I did. Perhaps it’s time not to take the South Americans or the African people so lightly. And no, this does not include the African-American “brothas” and “sistas” or the latinos or other "minorities" in the US. I, along with many other nations, was happy that the Czechs kicked US ass! They don't care for "soccer" anyway. They have their own fake football/rugby.

Trinidad and Tobago were so overjoyed and honored by just being on the field. They weren’t expecting a victorious outcome, let alone the Championship. They only wanted to be a part of the game, a part of the World Cup. Same went for the Angola, Serbia and Montenegro, Togo, and such and such. By not allowing the European country to score was more than enough for T & T to celebrate. They were all smiles and hugs as they left the field. I was impressed by their goal keeper’s incredibly adamant stance on protecting his domain. So I’m ultimately rooting for the South American and African nations. Some may not, or never, win or see the semi finals, but I’m still on their side. Some of you may think I’m crazy or unconventional for not rooting for Whites or for my fellow Asians, or that I’m being Hei hua (affinity to black people) or He hua (affinity to brown people) and not Bai hua (affinity to white people) for once. But I don’t care ‘cuz I have my beliefs and more than good enough historical and social reasons. I’m hoping there’s still an ounce of justice left in this world, if not justice then maybe karma. But hey, that's just me.
